Tools

Goal

Delinuts is a small business in the hospitality field based in Melbourne.

They opened their shops in 2009, offering a variety of roasted flavoured nuts, and providing the best products to their customers all over Australia, both retail and wholesale.

The main goal of this project was to create a user friendly interface for the company website, including a responsive mobile design, to allow new and existing customers to view products and place orders.

Objectives

  • Assist with some remaining aspects of rebranding work

  • Fully align the new website with the newly determined style guides

  • Implement a customer log-in option for seamless online ordering process

  • Increase search engine traffic to allow future growth

  • Design responsive screens for mobile users

  • Allow an easy access to the business social media accounts

Information Architecture

I created s simple hierarchical structure that allows the user to quickly view the menu and place an order:

Placing an order can only be done after logging in / signing up for an account, as there is no available option currently to place an order as a guest (business requirement). “add to cart” will not appear if user is not logged in.

Style Guide

The style guide was created using an existing logo, and the colour palette is designed with earthy dark colours, and a warm orange tone.

Suggestions

  • It might be beneficial to add a filter feature on the mobile UI, even thought the menu it currently limited and there aren’t many items to choose from.

  • The wholesale interface will need to be designed and developed to support the wholesale customers with onboarding, tracking orders and records.

  • Allowing users to place an order as a guest (without signing up) might encourage more future sales.
